I've been trying to finish up a throw for my daughter's birthday. I'm always drawn to patriotic pieces and thought this would be perfect on the back of her white couch.
The repeating stripe from the fabric line made a quick wide border for the top and bottom of the quilt.

The panel is " Colors of Freedom" by Wilmington Prints.
Wanting the panel larger for a throw, I added 15.5 blocks to the sides of the panel.
I had the top all pieced in time for her birthday on the 15th but didn't have it quilted. (Bad when you have to give a gift that isn't finished and need to bring it back home to finish it up).
I took a class at Calico Country in Paducah, KY, called "Edge to Edge Quilting on Your Embroidery Machine where you are quilting in the hoop. It was a fun class and I wanted to use this technique on this quilt.
The book is by Amelie Scott Designs and has several expansion packs.
Now that the quilting is done, I'm finishing up the binding today and should gift it again tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by - Judy.

ReplyDeleteHello, it is a beautiful quilt. You did a lovely job. Enjoy your day, wishing you a great weekend ahead.
ReplyDeleteThat is by far one of the most beautiful quilts I've ever seen. I keep looking at the border...it would be perfect for a table runner! WOW! You've really made something special! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful quilt! It will really pop on that white couch. I've had to gift then take back quilts before to finish them. Maybe not the best, but they are often more appreciated because of the wait. Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.
