Old Grist Mill Tag

I made this tag a while back but hadn't shared it.

Just a couple shots of the steps of creating the tag.

The Old Grist Mill stamp is by Artistic Outpost.

Spring Wings - Butterflies in a Frame

I've been working on a few pieces to hang on the walls in my craft room and decided to share this one. The dimensional cutting pad, along with paints, embossing powder, wire, watercolor paper, vellum, embossing folder and cardstock were used.

The background inside the fame is a sheet from the Wallflower Vellum stash. I love the vellum but since it is 12 x 12 and my frame is 11 x 14, I tore the vellum in pieces and adhered them on with glue and seal on the mat board.

Thanks for stopping in - Judy.

Working on A Patriotic Throw

I have the 20 blocks done on my Wonky Star Quilt but decided to start another new project on Friday. Thinking I better start on something patriotic to have it ready for the 4th of July, I found a picture on Pinterest of a throw that appealed to me. I'm considering taking out the 4 squares in the center of the star and using one piece of fabric. What would you do with the center of the star?

So here's my take of the patriotic throw.

I saw a picture of a similar throw and it said the size is about 40 x 60. So from those measurements, I have been piecing my project. The star is similar to the "Wonky Star" quilt I have been working on. This made it a littler easier in making the star on this patriotic throw. Hopefully, they don't look wonky.  There are four smaller stars with one in each corner.

Later today, I finished two stars for the bottom of the throw.

Still have to piece the top corner stars plus a narrow red border and a wider blue border. I'm hoping to finish it in the next few days.

Wonky Star Quilt Pattern

I'm a beginning quilter and have started a new quilt pattern. It's the Missouri Star Quilt Co. "Wonky Star" pattern.

You can see how the star legs are certainly "wonky." There is a reverse image of each star. I'm using batiks fabric. Here is another of my completed star blocks.

There is an instructional video with Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilt Co. You can see the quilt in the background of her video.

My new flower beds are coming along.

Thanks for stopping by - Judy.
