I've been sewing almost daily trying to finish the friendship star blocks to add to the Stonehenge panel. The quilt will be a gift for my grandson for his August birthday.
The star blocks are finished then I decided to order another fabric from this line to make the corner blocks. Here's the fabric I ordered.
I have some scraps from the fabric used for the friendship blocks plus the new fabric. I'm looking for suggestions for the corner blocks; what do you think would work for these corners? The block will be about 9 inches.
Let me know - Judy.

I think that would make perfect corners---right in keeping with the Stonehenge look...very Celtic...the piece is really looking good...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! Depending on the size of your leftovers, perhaps a bordered square. One with multiple borders to echo the colors in the body of the quilt. (Either that or some lovely celtic design to coordinate with the border on the panel.)
ReplyDeleteOh I love the colors in the blocks - they match the panel perfectly! Not sure about the corner blocks.. you could do a plain square of that fabric and then a celtic applique or embroidery like the Joyful Quilter suggested, perhaps in that same blue color to draw it all together... I'm sure whatever you decide, it will be lovely! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt. As for the cornerstones, I can't see anything else other than a celtic knot too.
ReplyDeleteThat fabric is gorgeous! I think it will be perfect for the corners!
