Our local Quilt Lovers of Murray group recently had a workshop for our members on the garlic knot quilt. One of our sweet guild members lead the class and gave a great demonstration on making the square. I decided to use some Batik fabrics that have been in a drawer for a while.
I turned the next 8.5 inch square so you can see it running another direction.
After I made several squares, I laid them in the same direction.
Then I laid them in circular type design.
What do you think? Which design do you like?
Thanks for stopping by - Judy.

Your blocks are so lovely, the batik fabrics are perfect! My favorite way of laying blocks is in the barn raising design but off set in a corner (if that makes sense to you).
ReplyDeleteOoh, those blocks are wonderful but I honestly can't tell which one I like better. Somehow the knots don't show as much in the 2nd layout. However, they will look smashing any which way you set them. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI really like this block! It looks fun to play with, and I think I like the ones going in the same direction.
ReplyDeleteGosh I love this! Not sure which layout I like best. Maybe number 2? Both are lovely. Thanks for linking up to Wednesday Wait Loss.
ReplyDeleteI really like this block! I vote for the first layout! good luck!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat block. I like the second layout. Interlocking squares are neat.
ReplyDeleteThey are both good layouts, but I think the squares makes it more interesting. Either way, it's going to be a beauty.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blocks! I like both layouts
