Take a look at one of the stamps used in my project, it says it all.
It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see
- Henry David Thoreau
Here's a look at my finished project.
The project began with a background stamp I hadn't used before by Inkadinkado. I stamped it with Ranger Archival Ink - Monarch Orange. Then stamped twice more on additional paper. Tim Holtz Distress inks were rubbed on my craft sheet, spritzed with water, then rolled on the butterfly with a mini brayer. Each color was dried between layers with a heat tool.
Each butterfly was cut out and the first one was glued flat with matte medium to the background image. The second butterfly was inked with stains using the same method as the first. This butterfly was simply glued on at the body to the first one so the wings would be free to fly.

WOW! This card is absolutely stunning! I adore all of the bright colors you used and how you blended them so beautifully. I'm a total lit nerd, so of course I loved the quote by Thoreau. I also thought that you tied the quote in so nicely with the image and subject matter. Very inspiring combination. And way to go with the background texture you created! This whole piece is one feast for the eyes. You used so many clever techniques and the end result is lovely. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog!
