Heart Table Runner

I recently attended a workshop in Paducah, KY, where we sewed and quilted a table runner. 

A method called paper piecing was used to sew the pieces together. The paper was later torn off. 

I used my finished runner in my kitchen for a Valentine's table.

Card Making With An Eight Year Old

No better way to finally get back to crafting than to make a couple of cards with my grandson. 

His mother (my daughter) has a birthday this week and he wanted to make a card for her. Grandma to the rescue.  We looked at a few online samples and he liked the Tim Holtz Crazy Bird Framelits. Here's his finished card for his mom.

Next he wanted to make his Dad a card for Father's Day. We searched for a few ideas and again he wanted to use the TH Crazy Bird framelits. Here is his finished card.

Birthday Crazy Bird Card

I finally have gotten to make a birthday card with the TH Crazy Bird stamps, the framelits, and accessories. Oh my gosh are these crazy birds fun! They are endless. I've done lots of looking at all the crazy bird cards and tags on Pinterest so it wasn't too hard to make a fast card for my grandson's birthday. I was limited on how much time I had to get the card ready but it sure was fun to work with the birds. 

Graphic 45 - layout

Yes, I'm a little behind in my page work but I have finished an Easter layout using Graphic 45 paper and the April Cut Apart.  

Love the Cut Aparts. Fun to work with. 

July Tag for the 12 Tags of 2015

Love, love Tim's July tag, it's so patriotic and so cool. The tattered edges of the layers really sets it off. Here's Tim's Tag:

My take is the tag is below. Every step of creating this tag was so fun and making the patriotic ribbon was perfect for my tag, I even took a piece of the extra ribbon and made one for the bottom of the tag. I just twisted the colored ribbon and stapled it on with the tiny attacher. Plus I added a few extra stars for a little sparkle. 

May Tag for the 12 Tags of 2015

I am down to the wire this month with my entry for the May tag. I've been in Illinois for three week taking care of my 93 year old Dad and just got back to my craft studio this week and just in time to create my May tag. So here it is:

Thanks Tim for all of your inspiration. Love the cracked pistachio distress ink, it's such a great color. The couple in the photo look so sweet and she is giving him such a loving eye. I did just adore them and, therefore, chose the adore typed token. I wanted a soft color for the ribbon and string colors so used victorian velvet. On the roses I used shell pink alcohol ink.

April Tag for the 12 Tags of 2015

Wow,  thanks Tim for bring us new techniques with layered watercoloring, background spritzing, ribbon tinting and your beautiful new flower garden stamps. The sizzix word dies worked great for this tag and gave us more depth and texture. Here is Tim's April tag for the 12 Tags of 2015 that gave us so much inspiration.


I have completed my version of Tim's tag plus used another stamp from the flower garden CMS215 set to complete a second tag.

I followed Tim's steps and used the supplies he suggested except used a few different colors of the distress markers.
