Stonehenge Panel and Friendship Stars

I started working on a new throw this week. The Stonehenge Solstice Panel by Linda Ludovico for Northcott caught my eye because my grandson was so impressed with Stonehenge when his family visited there last summer.

The throw will be a birthday gift for my youngest grandson for his summer birthday.

I decided to make Friendship Star blocks to add to the quilt. The fabric is from the Stonehenge Solstice collection.

I finished two blocks yesterday and laid out the third block (above) to start on today.

Thanks for stopping by - Judy.

  1. Hello there! Your photo on Mid Week Makers caught my eye as I was just making these blocks this morning! I had a time getting my points to match up! The middle on mine is made of 4 HSTs. Your points look great! I really like your project! Thank you for sharing!

    1. Thank you, I'm a little worried about the points when I start sewing them to the panel. Hope I don't loose any.

  3. Hi Judy! I have never seen a Stonehenge panel before, or even knew it existed. Very, very cool and how special this will be for your grandson. The fabrics you chose for the HSTs is just perfect and matches so well. I really look forward to seeing this complete. Happy Mother's Day and Happy Friday. ~smile~ Roseanne

  4. Your grand son will just love his quilt, does he know you are making it for him? Stonehenge is certainly a very special place, as is Avebury stone circle. We had a trip to England from New Zealand some years ago, and loved visiting the standing stones. There are more around than you might imagine!

  5. I would love to see Stonehenge one day. The colours in this collection are glorious and I love the idea of the friendship stars around the edge.
