Winter Mixed Media Canvas

This is the last day of the Creative Retreat Online Class I have been participating in over the past two weeks. I still have 1 or 2 more projects to go but this mixed media winter canvas caught my eye so I jumped over to it. The creative Tammy Tutterow was the designer for this project. I just love her work.

Here's my take on her fabulous project.

I did substitute a dryer sheet for a piece of cotton batting  called for in the project. I used Adirondack Paint Dabbers - Aqua for the main color of the project plus Distress Picket Fence Paint from Ranger - Tim Holtz. The greenery was painted with Distress Paint - Peeled Paint.

Always In My Heart - layering stencils

We are in our fourth day of the On-line card class. Today's topic is Day 4: One Step Further. I love the idea of layering stencils, but I didn't have a gelli plate to work with as they did in the project. No worries, I still wanted to make something similar with Distress Paints, stencils and layering. Here's my stand-up card.

This technique took lots of drying in between layers. I did use the heat tool on some layers.

Supplies:
Tim Holtz stencils: RAYS, CLOCKWORK, and STRIPES
Distress Paints; broken china, antique linen, and mowed lawn
Stamps: Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous - Mixed Media; Hampton Art - Always in m heart
Distress Ink: broken china
Vellum paper

Embossing With Translucent Embossing Paste

I have enjoyed today's class with stencils and embossing paste. Translucent embossing paste was used with a stencil for the card. It is a top folding card but I took the picture at an angle so you can see the translucent hearts.

A vellum strip was cut and stamped with clear embossing ink then I used Ranger Embossing Tinsel - Bridal.

Happy Birthday Card with Texture and Dimension

I am creating my first card of  Stenciled Day 3: Embossing Pastes with Stencils. It's a birthday card created with a stencil, embossing paste and a faux butterfly. I didn't have the butterfly die used in the online class so my faux one will have to do for now.

Tag to A Card

Another card for the Day 1 of Stenciled Class. This card started as a tag and evolved into a standing card. There are many, many layers of inking on this stencil. Hope you enjoy it!
