Boo - Halloween Card

I have a Halloween card with a gate fold that's a little spooky. Take a look:

The papers were from my huge Halloween stash of paper. The spider web was an embossing folder then I applied glossy accent to the raised area and sprinkled Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter. The Boo die is Tim Holtz Sizzix Die - Gothic Boo. I used red paper to cut the die then applied Glossy Accent and Tim Holtz Festive Berries Red Distress Glitter.

The inside of the card was finished with Halloween paper, Tim Holtz Sizzie Die Candlelight Fright.

Hallo-Scream for Halloween

How about a spooky skull with a Medusa touch? I used the skull from the Tim Holtz Apothecary stamp, drew my own swirls, curls and earrings to resemble Medusa.

The eyes were stained with Festive Berries then Glossy Accents was applied.

Hallo-scream was stamped on mulberry paper. I applied a little water to the mulberry paper and pulled gently around the edges.

The skull stamp was matted with red paper for a little pop and matted again with the black and white paper from the Pebbles - Thirty One paper pad. Black plastic straws were slit and added to the edges for a frame. The white plastic netting was a fresh fruit or vegetable wrapper. I attached it to the frame to complete the project as a door hanger.

Alaska Fishing - Scrapbook Layout

I have been so inspired by Simon Says Monday Challenge: Nautical  this week that I have completed a scrapbook page of a fishing trip in Alaska.

I must have been waiting for the right  inspiration to get me going on this page. I have had the pictures printed for a while but just hadn't found the inspiration I needed until this week.  I included a tag to write a few of the memories of this halibut fishing expedition that my husband and son-in-law took while we were in Homer, Alaska.

Thanks to the Design Team at Simon Says for this much needed Nautical inspiration. - Judy

Sea Voyage Tag

The Simon Monday Challenge is: Nautical. My thoughts are going to a Sea Voyage.

Whether it's a compass to guide me or a nautical star to follow, my trip will be full of adventure.  I plan to go  beneath the sea for a look at the sea life. I may see fish swimming in schools (fish stamped in Archival Coffee) and the tentacles of the sea anemone moving in the water as represented by the movement of the frayed fringe on the tag.

Layering Stencils Tag

I have a fun and pretty easy project today with layering stencils. I used distress paints with three different layers of stencils.

The tree was my final layer of paint. Each layer was dried with the heat tool before the next layer was painted. The project is for the Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry 102 Day 2 - Layering Stencils

Supplies:
Distress Paints on tag: ripe persimmon, mustard seed, black soot.
Distress Stains on Tag: peacock feathers, crushed olive, pumice stone, seedless preserves
Distress Paints on burlap: peeled paint, frayed burlap
Stamp: Halloween Blueprint 2
Sheer Shimmer Spritz
