Summer Memories Card

I just spend a week of fun filled days with my daughter and two grandsons so I  made a card for her to express my sentiments about memories made during the week.

I began the card by using a background stamp and Versa Mark Watermark Stamp Pad to stamp the image. Next I covered the stamped image with super fine embossing powder and used the heat tool to dry it. I started inking the card with three colors of distress from Ranger - Tim Holt: faded jeans, peeled paint and squeezed lemonade. Next I used a fourth color: peacock feathers to get my final look. My background image was then trimmed and mounted on paper from my stash that I also inked in peacock feathers and squeezed lemonade. I chose the mounting paper because it had a similar color to the peacock feathers and had a nice little chained type pattern in the paper.

The sentiment on the card is from Technique Tuesday, Favorite Memories by Ali Edwards. I stamped the sentiment with Archival Black Ink. I decided to stamp over the background imaging knowing I would get resist from the embossing powder. I was excited to see how the stamp looked and I do like the resist showing through, Look closely at the word "you" and you can see the resist showing through.

The paper was double sided with more yellow on it, I inked it around the edges with peacock feathers and wrote a personal note to my daughter about our fun week together.

Thanks for stopping by - Judy.

Christmas Page Embellishment

I know it's only August but I had a little spare time and worked on a Christmas layout page embellishment.Take a look:

I began making my embellishment by cuting out the festive greenery and used a little glam on the leaves and pine cone. Then added a small tattered banner and the hanging sign. The sign was stained in Picket Fence then stamped using Ranger Archival Ink. The poinsettia stamp was one from The Craft Lab where I love to go and create many of my projects. I used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo to ink the edges of the sign.

This embellishment is going on this gorgeous music paper from the Festive Collection of Authentique. I loved the music paper so much I couldn't cut it so I decided to trim it just a little all the way around and mount it on red paper from Tim Holtz Nostalgic Collection.

Supplies:

Sizzix - Tim Holtz
   - Hanging Sign
   - Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die = Alterations Collection - Festive Greenery
   - Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die - Alterations Collection - Tattered Banners
Tattered Angels - Glimmer Glam
Wire from my stash
Music paper is from Authentique  - Festive Collection
Paper for the greenery is Core-dinations - Tim Holtz Nostalgic Collection

Alcohol Inks Card

A card that I really enjoyed making was made using Adirondack alcohol inks, embossing folder, foil sheet, gears die, and Tim Holtz Mini Gears. It was my first time to use alcohol inks so it was a lot of fun.

I sent the card to a friend with a personal note saying, "You better keep your gears moving or you might get old." Thanks for stopping by - Judy

Halloween Layout With Paints

Today's feature is a Halloween layout I have completed using paint. The first two tags on the layout have been layered into one object and host a friendly ghost painted with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam - Pixie Dust and a pumpkin painted with Ranger Distress Crackle Paint - Spiced Marmalade. After the pumpkin dried, it was stained with Vintage Photo to emphasize the cracks from the crackle paint. The crow, cat and pumpkin are all from Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers. The ribbons on the tags were from my stash and stained with Vintage Photo for a vintage look.

This tag features a larger ghost also painted with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam - Pixie Dust. The pumpkins below the tag are painted with Ranger Distress Stickles - Rock Candy. I heated the Rock Candy and love the bubbles and globs made from the heat. The little owl was a die cut with wiggle eggs added for fun.

All the papers used in the Halloween layout are by Authentique from the Enchanted Collection.

Thanks for stopping by - Judy. Pictures of my grandsons from Halloween 2012 will be added after the big day.
