Grateful

My sentiments' piece features the stamp set "Always Thankful" from Stampin' Up. I used stains, colored pencils and distress markers and a blending pen in the creation. The natural fiber ribbon was stained and added for texture. I like the way the knot turned out to resemble a piece of barbwire. I plan to use my creation as a tag on a scrapbook page.

No Place Like Home Card

I'm sharing a card I created featuring Hampton Art - Graphic 45 Magic of Oz stamps. To keep the card girly, I used Dorothy and her dog, Toto and some paper ribbon that I stained. The card was fun to create and not difficult.

The card started with light brown card stock then I attached some packing paper that had a punched shredded texture. I used it because it mimicked the look of the yellow brick road pattern of the Graphic 45 stamp. I adhered it to the card stock and spread it apart to show the brick road effect.

The paper ribbon was a fun piece found at a local second hand store; I inked the paper ribbon with Tim Holtz Distress Stain - Tumbled Glass, bunched it up and glued with Glossy Accents. The Nestabilities oval die is sprayed with Tattered Angel's Glimmer Mist Chalkboard Medallion with a little bling from my stash. The ribbon was white so I sprayed it with with Glimmer Mist - Frozen lake and gave it a little heat from my heat tool to dry.

Patriotic Layout With Layers

Both versions are designed with many layers of paper. Below is the second version, it is similar to the first but the bottom border is the reverse side of the same paper. The paper for the layouts is all from Authentique - Glory collection. The red color used to ink the bottom border was Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad Barn Door.

Five papers from the Glory Collection were used to create this design:Pride (both sides, United (both sides), Freedom, Liberty and Allegiance. I did also purchase the sticker sheet but am not ready to use those until I add my pictures.

The bunting in the right corner is also made with multiple layers. The ribbon paper was from a local thrift shop that I strained with Tim Holtz Distress Stains Barn Door and Chipped Sapphire. That part was so simple, the ribbon paper took the stain perfect. You can see the two colors better in the top picture.

The heart stamp was created by first creating my own stamp pad. I selected any stamp I wanted to use and stamped it with Archival Ink Pads by Ranger onto the felt pads. Then inked the pad with Tim Holtz Distress Reinkers since I had a patriotic stamp, I chose Barn Door and Chipped Sapphire Ink Reinkers to fill the pad. Now I was ready to stamp on my paper and could reuse the pad many times.

Thanks for stopping by - Judy.
